Tuesday, November 17th, 2015, 4:10pm, MSB 1147 (Colloquium Room)

Speaker:          Daniel Tancredi, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, UC Davis School of Medicine

Title:                Advice to statistical consultants contributing and evaluating evidence for a nutrition intervention

Abstract:         The movement toward evidence-based health and healthcare practices puts an increasing emphasis on sound study design, statistical analysis and reporting. However, there are still woeful shortcomings in the research literature from endemic bad statistical practices. Dr. Tancredi will provide advice to statisticians involved in contributing or evaluating evidence in nutrition studies on better statistical practices and how those inform the evaluation of evidence used to make health and healthcare recommendations.
