Student Highlight: Hao Wu

Hao Wu, one of our M.S. alumni in Spring 2019, was admitted to the Michigan State University Ph.D. program in Epidemiology and Biostatistics for Fall 2019. Here's what he had to say about his experience here at UC Davis. Congratulations, Hao!

"It is a great honor to be admitted as a PhD student by Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in Michigan State University as an UC Davis alumni. It is the two years of study, research and fun here in UC Davis let me get this. I was very lucky to have all the professors, TAs and fellow colleagues here, taught me new knowledge and helped me with any problems. Especially, Dr. Ana-Maria Iosif, my advisor, mentored and encouraged me in both my study and daily life. And Dr. Lihong Qi, my academic advisor, led me step-by-step to teach me how to do scientific research study. There is no doubt I will recommend UC Davis Department of Statistics and Graduate Group in Biostatistics to my college friends.

In my next few years, my research will center on quantitative and statistical genetics, with a focus on the analysis and prediction of complex traits and diseases."
