Student Highlight: Shuai Sun
Shuai Sun, another of our M.S. alumni in Spring 2019, was admitted to the Ohio State University Ph.D. program in Biostatistics for Fall 2019. Here's what he had to say about his experiene here at UC Davis. Congratulations, Shuai!
The reason I chose OSU PhD program is that it is good place and their Statistics Department is pretty good. The Biostatiscs PhD program I chose is an interdispline program which combines the Statistics and Public Health department. My academic interest may mainly focus on clinical trials or health related problems, so I think in their program I can learn more about statistical analysis related to health issues.
My experience at UC Davis definitely helped me when I applied for this program. Especially, in our program, we have learnt much advanced statistical or biostatistical theories and skills compared to others. And I think previous summer GGB internship has also helped me a lot by providing me with experiences on real word research focusing on health related issues and training me to apply what I have learnt to practice. I am also really thankful to my major professor Prof. Iosif. She is an excellent professor and mentor during my whole M.S study.
My plan is to focus on clinical trials or health related issues.
